BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The University of Maine Board of Trustees have announced that a search committee will be formed this summer to find the school's next president for the University of Southern Maine.

The presidential search is planned to begin in early fall, and will run until a successful candidate is found. System officials hope to fill the position by July 2015, or sooner if the person selected is available.

Current USM President Theo Kalikow was named president in July 2012, and has a two-year contact, with an extension for up to one year.
